Unto us a child is born...

Cross Marchette Timmons was born on December 10 weighing 9 lbs., 6 oz. to Mrs. Randi Timmons.  Mrs. Timmons taught many of our children last year before she and her husband Wes moved to Greensboro, NC for Mr. Timmons' coaching job.  Cross is Mrs. T's (Mrs. Dayle Timmons') grandson.  Welcome to the new addition!

How high can you count?

 

Today students used adding machine tape to write numerals.  It's amazing how just a simple change in paper can make a difference in the children's engagement in a task.  They were encouraged to write by 1's beginning with 1, as far as they could.  Each child was given a three foot strip of adding machine tape.  When they filled the tape, they could add another foot of tape... and another... and another.  They are bringing the strips home today.  We stopped the class when we gave out of tape but were thrilled when some of the students wrote past 200! Now those are numbers to count on!
