So today we checked our raised garden after all the rain last week and were thrilled to see that the broccoli is a foot high and the cabbage has large leaves and is beginning to make a ball in the middle! We even pulled up one little carrot that was orange but only about an inch long!
Then we checked the potatoes that we planted in the school plot. At first the children were disappointed that nothing was growing...
until Mrs. Ruark pulled back the leaves over each mound to reveal beautiful green potato plants! The leaves and straw were being used to protect the plants during this snap of cold weather. Can't wait to see how it all works out!
